At Deer Run Ranch Equine Connection, we offer unique equine assisted services. It has been amazing to see the transformation and healing that our participants experience. Horses possess an evolutionary advantage that enables them to pick up on our most subtle emotions, while at the same time not being judgmental and even uncovering emotional blind spots. That means they are the ideal partner for helping people to improve their well-being. It’s incredible to witness when equines sense trauma. They intuitively understand our needs before we even realize them. Equines will envelop individuals experiencing trauma with a non-judgmental and mirror-like reflection of their inner state. They can sense emotions and body language, providing real-time feedback that helps calm the nervous system. Their presence fosters trust and connection in a safe and present-focused environment.

Our Services

  • Equine-Assisted Learning (EAL): Our Equine-Assisted Learning (EAL) programs use horses to enhance personal growth and skill development through engaging activities. They promote self-awareness and confidence. These sessions consist of groundwork only, with or without a mental health professional.
  • Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP): Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) helps individuals address emotional and psychological challenges through therapeutic horse interactions, fostering healing and insight. These sessions are groundwork only and involves a mental health professional.
  • Therapeutic Riding: Therapeutic Riding provides a customized riding program for children and adults, focusing on physical coordination, emotional well-being, and confidence.
  • Stables of Strength: Our program designed by Veterans for Veterans is called Stables of Strength. We assist individuals and groups to improve symptoms of depression, anxiety and PTSD.
  • The Journey at Deer Run: Coming soon.... The Journey are a series of theme based multi-day retreats (e.g., Woman's Wellness, Leadership & Team Building, Veterans, etc.) with curated content specifically developed to provide transformational experiences for our participants.
  • Branded Merchandise: Our branded merchandise offers exclusive items that support our mission and raise awareness, featuring apparel and accessories from Deer Run Ranch. The proceeds help to fund our pro bono work.
